Resources That Have Helped Grow The Witch's Garden

Sourcing Seeds & Plants

A great resource is to find your local nursery, and ask for non-GMO, native, organically grown plants/seedlings.  Supporting local and developing local relationships is important to help with promoting a regenerative outlook into farming and gardening.  Some other resources I have found helpful for sourcing seeds are the following companies and websites.

Herbalism in the Home

Below are some phenomenal sources to help expand your knowledge of herbalism.  There are so many resources out there, beyond what I share here, but this can be a starting point for you to find your teachers.

  • Podcast - Root Radical by Kyle Denton
  • Podcast - Herbs with Rosalee by Rosalee de la Foret

Books, Books, and more Books!

There are tons of books to recommend! Here are a few I found extremely helpful.

  • The Organic Medicinal Herb Farmer by Jeff and Melanie Carpenter
  • Herbal Medicine From the Heart of the Earth by Dr. Sharol Marie Tilgner
  • Self-Sufficient Herbalism by Lucy Jones
  • The Herbal Kitchen by Kami McBride
  • Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss
  • Making Plant Medicine by Richo Cech
  • The Book of Herbal Wisdom by Matthew Wood
  • The Way of Herbs by Michael Tierra
  • Herbal AntiVirals by Stephen Harrod Buhner

The Way of the Bee

Tending to the bees will be completely new to me this year, 2025.  I have a few resources to recommend, but I am also very much open to anyone sending me their experiences and firsthand knowledge too.  The bees have been calling to me for about 4 years.  I have been researching and trying to learn as much as I can before I take on a hive to tend.  So many lives at hand, I wanted to make sure I knew something before taking on such a big responsibility. And from all that I have learned, I can only know so much through secondhand knowledge and wisdom.  I have to jump in and do it.  So wish me and the bees the best!
